How the PDF is rebuilt

Thumbnails are drawn with PDF.js. When you download, pdf-lib copies each kept page from your original into a new document in the order you chose, adding any rotation. Page sizes are unchanged. Bookmarks, form fields and some document-level features may not carry over.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reorder PDF pages?+

Open the PDF, then drag pages into the order you want — or focus a page and press Alt + arrow keys. Download the PDF when you're done.

How do I delete or extract pages?+

Select pages by clicking them (or pressing Space), then use Delete to remove them or “Extract selected” to save just those pages as a new PDF. Undo is always available while you work.

Does it keep text selectable?+

Yes. Pages are copied into the new file as they are — text, links on the page and vector graphics stay the same. Nothing is turned into an image.

Can I edit a password-protected PDF?+

No. Encrypted PDFs can't be rewritten here. Remove the password in a PDF app you trust first.

Will a digital signature still be valid?+

No. Any change to a signed PDF invalidates its signature. Keep the original if the signature matters.

Is deleting a page the same as redacting it?+

No. The deleted pages aren't in the saved file, but this tool isn't a redaction or sanitisation tool and doesn't check for hidden content elsewhere in the document.
